General Questions

  • At Paws in Chelsea we offer dog and cat boarding, dog walking, dog daycare, dog and cat grooming, and pet concierge services.

  • We are open from 8am - 8pm daily. During closed hours we always have staff members on-site monitoring pets 24/7.

  • Please refer to our pricing page here. For payment, we accept VISA, MasterCard, and AMEX.

    All clients are required to have a valid credit card on file.

  • All staff members are required to successfully complete and pass the NYC Department of Health & Mental Hygiene Animal Handling Course. They are all certified in Animal Care and Handling Techniques.

  • We are a fully insured and licensed business legally operating in the state of New York.

  • No. We do not accept pets with fleas or ticks. If you have recently been to areas known for ticks, we request that you check your pet thoroughly before bringing them for daycare or boarding.

  • Our Manhattan pet transportation service is provided to and from our Chelsea location. This is by advance appointment with prices typically starting at $12 for a one-way.

    If transportation is requested to veterinarian appointments, this need to be arranged ahead of time and will also be charged.

Pet Boarding Questions

  • You may drop off your dog or cat beginning at 8:00 a.m. and pick it up until 8:00 p.m. Any variation must be negotiated prior to the boarding date, and a surcharge will be added to your bill. At midnight, we close for the night.

  • Only the people you authorize will be permitted to pick up your pet.

  • Yes. Pick up/Drop Off between 6 am - 8 am or 8 pm - 10 pm will be an additional $15.00

    Pick up/drop off between 10 pm - 6 am will incur an additional $25 charge.

  • Peak dates that will incur an additional $10 per night charge are:

    - Memorial Day weekend

    - 4th of July weekend

    - Labor Day weekend

    - Thanksgiving weekend

    - Christmas Day

    - Week between Christmas and New Year’s

    - New Year's Day

    - Presidents Day weekend

    Pricing does not include New York sales tax.

  • During the holidays we charge an additional $10.00 per night.

    Peak times: Memorial Day weekend, 4th of July weekend, Labor Day weekend, Thanksgiving weekend, week between Christmas and New Year’s, Presidents Weekend.

  • Yes. We offer transportation to and from our Chelsea location by advance appointment only for an additional $12 each way.

  • Reservations in advance are highly encouraged during holiday weekends. Reservations can only be made during our normal hours (8:00 am to 8:00 pm).

    We ask that any off-peak cancellations be made at least 48 hours prior to the boarding.

    During holidays, we require a strict 48-hour notice for any cancellation. All stays not canceled prior to 48 hours will incur a charge for the intended stay.

    Please note that we will apply a peak surcharge of $10 per night for boarding and $5 per day of daycare to all listed prices.

  • 10-pack boarding expires 90 days from purchase.

    20-pack boarding expires 180 days from purchase.

  • Dogs

    All first time boarders are introduced to fellow guests slowly and carefully to make sure that no problems arise and give them ample time to make new friends.

    With certain dogs, we sometimes require a pre-boarding visit to insure compatibility.

    New clients are required to submit up-to-date vaccination records.

    Cats

    Cats are boarded in individual kennels in our cat room. We require vaccinations prior to any boarding.

  • In the interest of overall harmony, we do not accept dogs with aggressive tendencies, unless prior arrangements are made for one of our separation rooms.

    For the safety of our team and other customers, we unfortunately cannot accept dogs that show aggression to people. We will update you in the event we see such behavior and reserve the right to refuse service.

  • Walks are an additional service and fee which we can accommodate!

    One walk / $11

    Two walks / $20

    Three walks / $30

  • Private suites are available for an additional $10 per night

  • Yes! We can administer oral and topical medications. Please alert our staff with all proper instructions at the beginning of your stay.

  • Yes. We carry in-house food that we can give your pet during their stay at no additional cost. If you would like special food, we can give it to your pet for an additional fee. The food we feed our boarding animals is listed below:

Daycare Questions

  • Each new client gets a free 2-hour trial for daycare to ensure they are happy in our facility.

    Each new client must sign a waiver and provide up-to-date vaccinations before any daycare or boarding.

  • Yes. All daycare packages have expiration dates set at purchase (please ask before purchasing), and are non-refundable.

  • Unlimited Monthly Daycare membership covers the calendar month of purchase (pro-rated), offers waived early drop off and later pick up fees, and is subject to 30 day cancellation notice period.

  • Separation suites are charged at an extra $10.00 per day, subject to availability.Item description

  • Yes. Daycare prices are subject to peak holiday price increases of $5 per day.

  • Every staff member is trained on-site in the proper care and handling of all breeds. Our daycare is focused on matching dogs of similar size and temperament into play areas in order to cultivate as safe and fun an environment as possible.

Cat Boarding Questions

  • We board cats in oversized cages in a separate cat room. On a daily basis, we allow each cat time outside of the cage. During this time they are free to enjoy the amenities we provide – the cat condo, the scratching post, playtime with us or a simple catnap.

  • We will no longer be boarding diabetic cats. If your cat requires insulin, you may have someone come into your home or contact your vet for boarding options. We apologize for any inconvenience

  • Yes an additional $10 per night will be charged during peak times.

Grooming Questions

  • Grooming cancellations made same day and no shows will be charged 50% of grooming price.

  • In an effort to keep the grooming schedules running smoothly all new grooming clients will be asked to give their credit card prior to the appointment.
